Aug 1, 2023

Dear District Nine Family,

Interim Chancellor

Houston Community College is transitioning into a new academic year. Dr. Margaret Ford Fisher, the newly selected
Interim Chancellor, will begin her tenure on September 1. She will provide executive leadership for HCC as we transition to the new state funding model for community colleges. As a member of the joint TACC/CCATT Legislative Committee. I understand this new model and the importance of student enrollment, achievement, and success. Dr. Margaret Ford Fisher, who is currently the President of HCC Online, has an extensive background in higher education, including 38 years at HCC in various leadership roles. We thank the current chancellor, Cesar Maldonado, Ph.D., P.E., for his nine years of service leading HCC.
