HCC Employees who work with or are exposed to chemicals, solvents, cleaners or other hazardous or potentially hazardous substances as part of their work assignment must receive this initial training. This session will meet the Texas Hazard Communication Actinitial mandatory training requirements.

Covers a variety of health and safety issues that may occur in our environment. Ergonomics in office settings and workplace safety issues such as slip & fall accidents which are the leading cause of injuries at HCC. Includes an introduction to HCC safety program and emergency procedures.

Employees must be aware of and follow procedures to ensure adherence to state and federal laws and guidelines governing handling, storage and disposal of materials considered to be regulated wastes. These regulated waste may be produced from facility operations or instructional programs. This training provides information to employees on the methods and procedures in place at HCC to comply with these regulations

In HCC facilities where asbestos containing building materials (ACBM) have been identified certain employees must have received asbestos awareness training. This training provides information to the employee on identification of suspect ACBM and how to avoid exposures and disturbance of these materials. This is required awareness training and DOES NOTqualify the employee to work with asbestos containing material or in any abatement role.

Target audience: Maintenance or custodial employees or others whose duties require work in close proximity to ACBM and the potential for incidental contact exist.
