HCC is bolstering its offerings with the introduction of new ROTC and military education programs. Aimed at cultivating future military leaders, the program seeks to instill values of honor, courage and commitment while preparing students for both military service and civilian careers.

Miami Dade College (MDC), in partnership with Houston Community College (HCC) and Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD), has been awarded $2.8 million from the National Science Foundation Advanced Technological Education (NSF ATE) program to create the National Applied Artificial Intelligence Consortium (NAAIC), a groundbreaking initiative that aims to foster the growth of technician-level artificial intelligence (AI) professionals across the nation.

The Texas economy continues to grow and attract jobs, leading the nation in the number of roles created. According to the Texas Workforce Commission, from March 2023 to March this year, the state added 270,700 jobs–the most for any state in the nation.

Houston Community College has launched an Alumni Association and opened an Alumni Affairs Office with the goal of better serving graduates. The association is committed to developing strong connections with alumni through initiatives that include access to HCC's Career and Transfer Services and others.
