HCC student entrepreneurship alum wins $55,000 in grant funding

Kanisha Ffriend, a Houston Community College student entrepreneurship program alum, recently took first place at the American Heart Association's Empowered to Serve pitch competition. She also won the fan favorite award and earned a total of $55,000 in grant funding.
Ffriend is the lead doula and founder of HeirBloom, a digital platform connecting healthcare professionals with expectant and postnatal mothers to improve birth experiences and reduce maternal mortality rates.
