HCC and Johnson Controls to celebrate National Skilled Trades Day on May 1

WHAT: Houston Community College (HCC) Central and Johnson Controls partnership is allowing HCC students to train for in-demand jobs in fields such as HVAC, fire, security and more.

WHEN: May 1, 2024, from 1:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.

WHO: Students, faculty and company representatives will be available.

WHERE: HCC Central Campus, 1300 Holman Street

BACKGROUND: Thanks in part to a $100,000 renewable grant from Johnson Controls, students are learning skills in areas with an existing shortage of workers. Such occupations are needed to help tackle challenges like emissions reduction, healthy indoor air quality, building safety and more.
