The HCC Southwest College West Loop Campus buzzed with entrepreneurial energy earlier this month as it hosted a dynamic double event:  "Protect Your Intellectual Property: Mastering IP Strategies” followed by the HCC Student Pitchfest Expo and Competition.

HCC is launching its new LVN to ADN program at HCC Coleman College for Health Sciences, helping to address the state and national shortage of nurses. The program, which is pending approval from the Texas Board of Nursing, is accepting applications for its inaugural fall 2025 cohort through June 19, 2025.

The Houston Community College Foundation’s (HCCF) 2025 gala, held recently at the Hilton Americas Hotel, raised more than $700,000 to support student success and scholarships, according to HCCF President Karen L. Schmidt. The event honored Texas State Rep. Christina Morales with the foundation’s Crystal Eagle Award for her civic and community leadership and her family’s legacy of support for educational access in the Houston community and at Houston Community College (HCC).
