The A+ Certification establishes a nationally recognized standard for the competency of service technicians in the computer industry. This course information provides the students with a solid foundation in PC hardware and operating system knowledge as well as hands-on training necessary to succeeded in the A+ Certification curriculum.
This class prepares the student to enter the Information Technology (IT) field as computer technicians. In addition it prepares students for the A+ certification exam. Job roles may include technical support specialist, IT support technician, or IT support administrator.
Emphasis will be on microcomputers and required software components. Topics include site preparation, installation procedures, components, power supplies, modems, printers, switches, operating, help and security systems, packaged programs, utilities, languages and operating procedures.
